If I may weigh in…the last lines tie it, complete it, with a sigh of satisfaction. All of the holidays have been commercialized to the point that the God of them all is Greed. And yet…it is written: “the love of money is the root of all evil.” We claim to be a Christian nation (the U.S.) — but we don’t invest in “God.” We don’t “put money on God,” like a racehorse who will win. What have we done? Ah yes, we have put GOD on our MONEY. “In God We Trust.” I think that pretty much sums it up, don’t you? Nicely written.
