Is this true for women who establish paternity and go through ORS? Curious, because here in Utah, ORS has HUGE sway in the courts, and can independently garnish, put liens and judgements on property, and can even prosecute and send a guy to jail. The problem? It’s way too easy to duck ORS by getting paid under the table. I think ORS should be able to garnish their actual bank accounts, too. But that’s me, a mother of a son whose father owes over $40K in back child support, and has a nicer car than my current husband, who covers 100% of my son’s needs — and does it gladly.
